v0.54 20 May, 2019. Big update because it's been ages since I updated this. New AVGN sprite (inspired by Simon in CV1 and Luigi from Mario 2) with changing palettes for different weapons. Weapon change system implemented; allows you to switch between two weapons. Down angled attacks made redundant by lowering attack hitboxes and projectiles. Fireball defaults to downward angle. Removed domain lock. Started applying palette restrictions to sprites to better mimic NES limitations. HUD Changes. New Bugs Bunny enemy replaces skeletons in levels 1 and 4. Tiny score popups appear in retro fashion when enemies are defeated. Coins changed to 'M's from M.C. Kids. New stage select portraits for DK and AVGN. Game title on main menu changed to NES Nightmare. Removed "More Games" and "More AVGN" links. Minor Boss behaviour changes. Background bricks in level 2 made smaller and more detailed. Added terrain tiles near transitions to account for new camera from v0.52. Started realigning background tiles to fit the NES 16x16 grid for authenticity. Mettaur triple shot bullets angled further apart for easier dodging. Probably more. Made alpha builds public. v0.53 October 23, 2017. Updated to work with https. There are some HUD changes for switching weapons, but it hasn't been implemented. v0.52 June 5. Added music (menu is unscored as of yet, other songs might be trimmed). Level 5 is enterable but uses L4's intro and is pretty much empty. New camera shows more ahead of Nerd. WASD Pipe glitch fixed. Nerd no longer bounces on off walls when recovering from pits, bounces higher each time. Upped the quality of SFX. v0.51 Finished level 4, including the boss. Lacking sound effects but fully functional otherwise. v0.50 First playable version is up. No music yet, and level 4 (Bimmy Lee) isn't done yet. But it's playable enough to get some feedback. Press the P key to pause. Pausing is mostly functional, but there are some problems.
