La Pascaline fut l'un des premiers calculateurs. Les roues dentées qui la constituent comportent 10 positions (de 0 à 9). A chaque fois qu'une roue passe de la position 9 à la position 0, la roue immédiatement à sa gauche, avance d'une position. Elle permet de faire les quatre opérations.
