Bakudan Musume no Shiawase Sagashi is a Japanese-style adventure game featuring 3 scenarios set around the little town of Nishihagi, each having you play a different character. In the first scenario, you play as the titular tomboy herself. The second scenario, Chie's pet - Kotetsu the cat. The third scenario, Chie's father - Tetsu. Like its peers in the genre, this game presents you with a selection of actions at any given location such as move, observe, give, take, talk, use. But unlike its peers, Bakudan Musume no Shiawase Sagashi has a fairly unique visual presentation of dialogue. Characters talk in dialogue bubbles with vertically-arranged text to mimic a manga frame. In addition to the standard adventure gameplay, some segments of the game also involve clearing some minigames. In Chie's scenario, she must pass a baseball minigame. Chie plays as the batter and must score a ball. An out after three strikes here result in a game over. In Tetsu's scenario, you are required to play 3 gambling minigames. The first is a pachinko slot machine with the goal of getting 100 coins. You are allowed to bet up to 3 coins, each will let you bet on one row. The second gambling minigame is Blackjack with the goal of winning all of your opponent's money. The last gambling minigame is betting on horse racing.
