Like the predecessor, Mega Man II recycles many elements (including bosses, levels, and enemies) from two consecutive titles in the main franchise (this case being <a href="//www.giantbomb.com/mega-man-2/3030-14026/" data-ref-id="3030-14026">Mega Man 2</a> and <a href="//www.giantbomb.com/mega-man-3/3030-4518/" data-ref-id="3030-4518">Mega Man 3</a>). Mega Man's dog, Rush, makes his appearance in a similar fashion to his use in Mega Man 3.</p><p>Set in the year <a href="//www.giantbomb.com/year-x/3015-7424/" data-ref-id="3015-7424">20XX</a>, the game takes place sometime after humanoid robot hero <a href="//www.giantbomb.com/mega-man/3005-344/" data-ref-id="3005-344">Mega Man</a> defeated <a href="//www.giantbomb.com/dr-wily/3005-291/" data-ref-id="3005-291">Dr. Wily</a> and his revived <a href="//www.giantbomb.com/robot-masters/3015-154/" data-ref-id="3015-154">Robot Masters</a> (and also sometime after <a href="//www.giantbomb.com/mega-man-3/3030-4518/" data-ref-id="3030-4518">Mega Man 3</a>). More revived Robot Masters from his past adventures have been detected in a secret underground corridor, and it's up to Mega Man (and his dog, <a href="//www.giantbomb.com/rush/3005-1318/" data-ref-id="3005-1318">Rush</a>) to scrap them and find the whereabouts of Dr. Wily (who has stolen an experimental "Time Skinner" <a href="//www.giantbomb.com/time-travel/3015-73/" data-ref-id="3015-73">time travel</a> device to bring back <a href="//www.giantbomb.com/quint/3005-5050/" data-ref-id="3005-5050">a mysterious weapon</a> from 37 years into the future).</p><h2>Rush's Abilities</h2><ul><li>Rush Jet: Rush can transform into a hover board to guide Mega Man around in the air.</li><li>Rush Coil: A jumping pad that allows Mega Man to jump really high.</li><li>Rush Marine: Rush can transform into a submarine to help Mega an get through a underwater area in one of the later levels in the game.</li></ul><h2>Bosses</h2><p><b>Name: </b><a href="/air-man/3005-1047/" data-ref-id="3005-1047">Air Man</a><b> | Weapon: </b>Air Shooter</p><p><b>Name: </b><a href="/crash-man/3005-1179/" data-ref-id="3005-1179">Crash Man</a><b> | Weapon: </b>Crash Bomb</p><p><b>Name: </b><a href="/metal-man/3005-1151/" data-ref-id="3005-1151">Metal Man</a><b> | Weapon: </b>Metal Blade</p><p><b>Name: </b><a href="/wood-man/3005-1185/" data-ref-id="3005-1185">Wood Man</a><b> | Weapon: </b>Leaf Sheld</p><p><b>Name: </b><a href="/magnet-man/3005-1517/" data-ref-id="3005-1517">Magnet Man</a><b> | Weapon: </b>Magnet Missile</p><p><b>Name: </b><a href="/hard-man/3005-1396/" data-ref-id="3005-1396">Hard Man</a><b> | Weapon: </b>Hard Knuckle</p><p><b>Name: </b><a href="/needle-man/3005-1514/" data-ref-id="3005-1514">Needle Man</a><b> | Weapon: </b>Needle Canon</p><p><b>Name: </b><a href="/quint/3005-5050/" data-ref-id="3005-5050">Quint</a><b> | Weapon: </b>Sakugarine</p>
