The game's single-player mode has players challenging the two streetballers they didn't choose in various streetball rules (where they can wager more money in an attempt to win quicker, at the cost of a more aggressive opponent). Completing all eight challenges puts players in one final match against the elite player Judge.

It is one of two games in GTE's "Street Sports" series, the other being Street Hockey '95. The Genesis version included a bonus CD music sampler.

Game Modes

Jammit features a number of different play variations, most of which are play in one-on-one, with the first player reaching 21 points winning. Each variation has their own unique rules, including whether or not fouls are enforced and whether or not the player retains the ball after scoring (Winner's Outs) or relinquishes to the opponent (Loser's Outs).

One on One - Fouls enforced, loser's outs.

Sweat - Fouls not enforced, winner's outs.

2 Hot - Same as One on One, but players now earn double points for shots made from a moving hot-spot (marked with "X").

Poison - Same as One on One, but players who score 20 points exactly gets a 10 point penalty.

Slams Only - Same as Sweat, but the point threshold is reduced to 10 and players are only scored on slam dunks.

In 2 It - Same as 2 Hot, but with winner's outs and players can only score for shots made from one of two moving hot-spots, with shots made from both at the same time scoring double points.

Frenzy - Same as In 2 It, but two balls are in play at once. The point threshold is reduced to 10, players no longer "check" after scoring, and fouls are not enforced.

Cutthroat - Same as Sweat, but three players play at once in a free-for-all. Rather than "checking", players who score earn a free throw (which can be chained together up to three times). Players who score 13 or 20 points exactly gets a 10 point penalty. Cannot be played in 2 Player Mode.

Once completing all eight variations in One Player Mode, players challenge the game's final boss (Judge) at his own turf in one final match, using one of the variations at random (except Cutthroat).
