<h2>Concept</h2><p>Based on the legendary "24 Hours of Le Mans" endurance race, Test Drive: Le Mans lets you compete in the day-long event in its entirety, as well as giving you the option to compete in shorter versions of the race. Authentic cars and several other tracks round out the experience.</p><h2><a data-ref-id="3015-5521" href="/same-name-different-game/3015-5521/" slug="same-name-different-game"><b>Same Name, Different Game</b></a></h2><p>The <a data-ref-id="3045-94" href="/pc/3045-94/" slug="pc">PC</a> and <a data-ref-id="3045-22" href="/playstation/3045-22/" slug="playstation">Playstation</a> versions were released in March 2000 and developed by <a data-ref-id="3010-923" href="/eutechnyx-limited/3010-923/" slug="eutechnyx-limited">Eutechnyx</a>. The <a data-ref-id="3045-37" href="/dreamcast/3045-37/" slug="dreamcast">Dreamcast</a> game, though still published by <a data-ref-id="3010-548" href="/atari-sa/3010-548/" slug="atari-sa">Infogrames</a>, was developed from scratch by <a data-ref-id="3010-3409" href="/krome-studios-melbourne/3010-3409/" slug="krome-studios-melbourne">Melbourne House</a> and released in November 2000. The Dreamcast version has two fewer tracks, lacking the Road Atlanta and Road Atlanta National courses.</p><p>In 2001, Melbourne House developed a port of the Dreamcast game for the PS2. This version was also ported to the PC in 2002, under the name "Le Mans 24 Hours", by <a href="///">Torus</a>. This name had been used for all markets outside North America for the previous games.</p>
