Like its predecessor, this game features no NFL teams, but rather has sixteen teams hailing from various American cities.</p><p>The game's big innovation was the introduction of play-by-play commentary, which used a selection of voice samples stitched together to create the illusion of commentating on the player's performance in real-time. Further Joe Montana sequels would fine-tune this feature, as would many other sports game franchises to follow. </p>
