<h2>Overview</h2><p>Metal Max 2 is a post-apocalyptic turn-based JRPG with vehicles and open-world aspects. The player is a warrior in the wastelands, and after a near-death run-in with some villains must recruit and build an army of vehicles and soldiers to fight off the bandits. The game's heavily influenced by the <em>Mad Max</em> movie series, and especially to the second movie, <em>The Road Warrior,</em> with which it shares many themes.</p><p>Metal Max 2 follows the original <a href="/metal-max/3030-17831/" data-ref-id="3030-17831">Metal Max</a>, which was released on the Famicom (NES) in 1991. The series then went dormant for a while, and came back with 2005's <a href="/metal-saga/3030-6639/" data-ref-id="3030-6639">Metal Saga</a>. Metal Max 2 was remade twice: Metal Max 2 Kai was released on the Game Boy Advance in 2003, and <a href="/metal-max-2-reloaded/3030-35849/" data-ref-id="3030-35849">Metal Max 2: Reloaded</a> for the Nintendo DS in 2011. The original Metal Max 2 was also rereleased on Wii's Virtual Console in 2010. No version of Metal Max 2 was ever localized in English or released outside of Japan.</p>
