<h2>Overview</h2><figure data-align="right" data-size="small" data-img-src="https://www.giantbomb.com/a/uploads/original/0/9408/749726-943512463_00.jpg" data-ref-id="1300-749726" data-ratio="0.625" data-width="320" data-embed-type="image" style="width: 320px"><a class="fluid-height" style="padding-bottom:62.5%" href="https://www.giantbomb.com/a/uploads/original/0/9408/749726-943512463_00.jpg" data-ref-id="1300-749726"><img alt="No Caption Provided" src="https://www.giantbomb.com/a/uploads/original/0/9408/749726-943512463_00.jpg" srcset="https://www.giantbomb.com/a/uploads/original/0/9408/749726-943512463_00.jpg 320w" sizes="(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px" data-width="320"></a></figure><p>PGA Tour Golf is a golf simulation game developed by <a href="/sterling-silver-software/3010-1900/" data-ref-id="3010-1900">Sterling Silver Software</a> and published by <a href="/electronic-arts/3010-1/" data-ref-id="3010-1">Electronic Arts</a> for <a href="/pc/3045-94/" data-ref-id="3045-94">MS-DOS PCs</a> in 1990.</p><p>The first in <a href="/pga-tour-golf/3025-455/" data-ref-id="3025-455">a long-running series of golf games</a> released by Electronic Arts, PGA Tour Golf features official licensing with the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PGA_Tour" data-target="true" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">PGA Tour</a> organization and includes recreations of official Tournament Players Club courses, text commentary from featured professional golfers, and tournament statistics from real-life tournaments.</p><p>Along with three recreated <a href="/the-united-states-of-america/3035-396/" data-ref-id="3035-396">U.S.</a> courses (<em>TPC Avanel</em> in <a href="/maryland/3035-2521/" data-ref-id="3035-2521">Potomac, Maryland</a>, <em>PGA West Stadium Course</em> in <a href="/california/3035-1719/" data-ref-id="3035-1719">La Quinta, California</a>, and <em><a href="/tpc-sawgrass/3035-1081/" data-ref-id="3035-1081">TPC at Sawgrass</a></em> in <a href="/florida/3035-1324/" data-ref-id="3035-1324">Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida</a>), the game includes a fourth fantasy course (<em>Sterling Shores</em>).</p><p>It was ported to the <a href="/genesis/3045-6/" data-ref-id="3045-6">Sega Genesis</a> and to both <a href="/amiga/3045-1/" data-ref-id="3045-1">Amiga</a> and <a href="/mac/3045-17/" data-ref-id="3045-17">Macintosh</a> computers in 1991, to the <a href="/super-nintendo-entertainment-system/3045-9/" data-ref-id="3045-9">Super Nintendo Entertainment System</a> in 1992, to the <a href="/sega-master-system/3045-8/" data-ref-id="3045-8">Sega Master System</a> in 1993, and to the <a href="/game-gear/3045-5/" data-ref-id="3045-5">Game Gear</a> in 1994. The SMS and GG versions were published by <a href="/tengen/3010-752/" data-ref-id="3010-752">Tengen</a>, while the Amiga and SMS versions were only released in Europe. An <a href="/expansion/3015-344/" data-ref-id="3015-344">expansion pack</a> for the Amiga version (known as the <em>Tournament Course Disk</em>) was released in 1992, including three courses added in <a href="/pga-tour-golf-ii/3030-21954/" data-ref-id="3030-21954">PGA Tour Golf II</a>. The SNES version was released as part of Electronic Arts Sports Network (EASN) and replaced Sterling Shores with <em>TPC at Eagle Trace</em> from PGA Tour Golf II.</p>
