<h2>Gameplay</h2><p>The game plays similarly to the Game Boy Color version of <a href="/mario-golf/3030-29972/" data-ref-id="3030-29972">Mario Golf</a>. Like that game, the player selects one of four player characters and gradually improves their stats by gaining experience through gameplay. While it doesn't feature the full RPG campaign of the previous game, it does feature multiple modes, including tournament, stroke and match play, mini golf, training, and several minigames.</p><p>Eight other characters can be unlocked for play, including four returning characters from Mario Golf's single player campaign.</p><h3>Mobile GB Adapter</h3><p>Prior to its shutdown, players could connect to the <a href="/mobile-system-gb/3015-11363/" data-ref-id="3015-11363">Mobile System GB</a> service using the Mobile Adapter GB accessory, which Mobile Golf was sold in a bundle with. Once connected, players could compete against friends and enter online tournaments, as well as download new courses, minigames, and four Mario franchise characters.</p>
