<h2>Overview</h2><figure data-align="right" data-size="small" data-img-src="https://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/0/7772/494001-rocko_s_modern_life__us__03.gif" data-ref-id="1300-494001" data-ratio="0.87109375" data-width="256" data-embed-type="image" style="width: 256px"><a class="fluid-height" style="padding-bottom:87.1%" href="https://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/0/7772/494001-rocko_s_modern_life__us__03.gif" data-ref-id="1300-494001"><img alt="No Caption Provided" src="https://www.giantbomb.com/a/uploads/original/0/7772/494001-rocko_s_modern_life__us__03.gif" srcset="https://www.giantbomb.com/a/uploads/original/0/7772/494001-rocko_s_modern_life__us__03.gif 256w" sizes="(max-width: 256px) 100vw, 256px" data-width="256"></a></figure><p>Rocko's Modern Life: Spunky's Dangerous Day is a 2D comedic side-scrolling puzzle-platformer developed and published by <a href="/viacom-new-media/3010-1212/" data-ref-id="3010-1212">Viacom New Media</a> for the <a href="/super-nintendo-entertainment-system/3045-9/" data-ref-id="3045-9">Super Nintendo Entertainment System</a> exclusively in North America on April 1994.</p><p>Based on the <a href="/nickelodeon/3025-1729/" data-ref-id="3025-1729">Nickelodeon</a> animated television series <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocko%27s_Modern_Life" rel="nofollow ">Rocko's Modern Life</a>, the game has players controlling <a href="/rocko/3005-6025/" data-ref-id="3005-6025">Rocko</a>: a timid <a href="/anthropomorphism/3015-476/" data-ref-id="3015-476">anthropomorphic</a> wallaby who must protect his faithful dimwitted <a href="/dog/3015-820/" data-ref-id="3015-820">dog</a> <a href="/spunky/3005-7566/" data-ref-id="3005-7566">Spunky</a> from numerous dangers and <a href="/guidance-gameplay/3015-4324/" data-ref-id="3015-4324">help</a> Spunky get to his destination of choice (usually golden <a href="/fire-hydrant/3055-1765/" data-ref-id="3055-1765">fire hydrants</a>).</p><p>Unlike most platformers based <a href="/licensed-game/3015-1098/" data-ref-id="3015-1098">other licenses</a>, Spunky's Dangerous Day is unique in that players must use a combination of traditional platforming and puzzle-solving to <a href="/guidance-gameplay/3015-4324/" data-ref-id="3015-4324">escort</a> the <a href="/ai-companion/3015-143/" data-ref-id="3015-143">semi-autonomous</a> Spunky (whose sole objective is walking forward aimlessly) to his destination. This is similar to the 1993 game <a href="/sleepwalker/3030-18417/" data-ref-id="3030-18417">Sleepwalker</a>.</p>
