<h2>Overview</h2><p>The Great Battle IV is the fourth <a href="/the-great-battle/3025-804/" data-ref-id="3025-804">The Great Battle</a> game in the greater <a href="/compati-hero-series/3025-2259/" data-ref-id="3025-2259">Compati Hero Series</a> which aims to combine the heroes and villains of <a href="/ultraman/3025-1031/" data-ref-id="3025-1031">Ultraman</a>, <a href="/gundam/3025-290/" data-ref-id="3025-290">Gundam</a> and <a href="/kamen-rider/3025-1799/" data-ref-id="3025-1799">Kamen Rider</a> in an <a href="/super-deformation/3015-1196/" data-ref-id="3015-1196">SD</a> format where everyone is at a uniform size. The Great Battle are the "core" Compati Hero Series games, presenting a standard side-scrolling 2D action game with shooter and platforming elements.</p><p>Players can switch their playable character between the three protagonists from the series' respective franchises at any point, and each has their own strengths and weaknesses.</p><p>The series received one more Super Famicom sequel in 1995: <a href="/the-great-battle-v/3030-31098/" data-ref-id="3030-31098">The Great Battle V</a>. Future games would appear on separate systems.</p>
