About
<h2>Overview</h2><p>Garfield: Caught in the Act is a 2D side-scrolling platformer developed by <a href="/sega-interactive-development-division/3010-722/" data-ref-id="3010-722">Sega InterActive</a> and published by <a href="/sega/3010-62/" data-ref-id="3010-62">Sega</a> for the <a href="/genesis/3045-6/" data-ref-id="3045-6">Sega Genesis</a> on October 1995. A handheld version was created by <a href="/novotrade-international/3010-902/" data-ref-id="3010-902">Novotrade</a> for the <a href="/game-gear/3045-5/" data-ref-id="3045-5">Sega Game Gear</a> on November 1995.</p><p>Based on <a href="/garfield/3025-229/" data-ref-id="3025-229">the comic strip of the same name</a> (and loosely based on <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garfield:_His_9_Lives" rel="nofollow ">Garfield: His 9 Lives</a>), Caught in the Act features hand-drawn sprites by the artists at Paws (namely the strip's creator <a href="/jim-davis/3040-58898/" data-ref-id="3040-58898">Jim Davis</a>). Players control the <a href="/garfield/3005-5695/" data-ref-id="3005-5695">eponymous furry feline</a> as he becomes trapped inside his poorly-reassembled <a href="/television/3055-54/" data-ref-id="3055-54">television set</a> by a sentient set of spare pieces (known as the Glitch). He must navigate numerous TV shows (representing <a href="/time-travel/3015-73/" data-ref-id="3015-73">various points in time</a>) and find a way to escape.</p><p>An enhanced version was later developed for <a href="/pc/3045-94/" data-ref-id="3045-94">PCs</a> (running Windows) by <a href="/point-of-view-inc/3010-417/" data-ref-id="3010-417">Point of View</a> in March 1996. This version was released exclusively in North America by <a href="/expert-software-inc/3010-1881/" data-ref-id="3010-1881">Expert</a> as part of the Sega PC Collection and was known in the box art as "Garfield: Garfield in TV Land!". This version features <a href="/redbook-audio/3015-6487/" data-ref-id="3015-6487">redbook audio</a>, enhanced graphics, and a new level arrangement based on the GG version (with a new exclusive level). It was later bundled with <a href="/sonic-knuckles/3030-18115/" data-ref-id="3030-18115">Sonic & Knuckles Collection</a> and <a href="/baku-baku/3030-13577/" data-ref-id="3030-13577">Baku Baku Animal</a> as the <em>Sonic & Garfield Pack</em>.</p><p>In addition, the Genesis version received an exclusive three-level standalone expansion that was digitally distributed through the <a href="/sega-channel/3015-5038/" data-ref-id="3015-5038">Sega Channel</a> accessory. Dubbed "Garfield: The Lost Levels", some of these levels appeared in the GG version. As the accessory was discontinued, there is currently no way to play this expansion.</p><p>It is the last game developed by the Sega InterActive division.</p><h2>Levels</h2><h4>GEN Version</h4><ul><li>Count Slobula's Castle</li><li>Revenge of Orangebeard</li><li>Cave Cat 3,000,000 BC</li><li>Catsablanca</li><li>The Curse of Cleofatra</li><li>Season Finale</li></ul><p>The following levels made up the downloadable "Lost Levels" expansion:</p><ul><li>Bonehead the Barbarian</li><li>Slobbin Hood</li><li>???</li></ul><h4>GG Version</h4><ul><li>Cave Cat 3,000,000 B.C.</li><li>The Curse of Cleofatra</li><li>Bonehead the Barbarian</li><li>Count Slobula's Castle</li><li>Revenge of Orangebeard</li><li>Slobbin Hood</li><li>Catsablanca</li><li>Television Wasteland</li></ul><h4>PC Version</h4><ul><li>Cave Cat 3,000,000 BC</li><li>The Curse of Cleofatra</li><li>Count Slobula's Castle</li><li>Revenge of Orangebeard</li><li>Catsablanca</li><li>Alien Landscape</li><li>Season Finale</li></ul>
