<h2>Overview</h2><p>Mahjong Hanjouki, loosely translated to "Mahjong Prosperity Chronicle", is a <a href="/mahjong/3015-6519/" data-ref-id="3015-6519">riichi mahjong</a> game published by <a href="/nihon-bussan-co-ltd/3010-249/" data-ref-id="3010-249">Nichibutsu</a> for the <a href="/super-nintendo-entertainment-system/3045-9/" data-ref-id="3045-9">Super Famicom</a> in Japan on July 28, 1995.</p><p>Along with multiple playing modes in two-, three-, and four-player configurations, this game is known for its optional Kansai rules and its recreations of two of Nichibutsu's earliest mahjong arcade games (the 1981 game <a href="/royal-mahjong/3030-40154/" data-ref-id="3030-40154">Royal Mahjong</a> and the 1983 game <a href="/jangou/3030-73633/" data-ref-id="3030-73633">Jangou</a>).</p>
