About
~Moire Patterns in Action~ This may look complex, but all I am doing here is rotating a Moire pattern against another stationary one. Moire patterns happen when 2 sets of lines or grids overlap. Those patterns have been creatively used by artists since the late 19th century, and even modern paint programs like Photoshop and Paintshop Pro have filters to help removing undesirable effects of Moire patterns from artwork created digitally. I find it particularly amusing how simple things like this can produce such a complex optical illusion, giving it the impression of speed and motion that isn't really happening. A slight shift on center of rotation can create even more dazzling effects. Hats off for technology from the 1800's! ^____^ Silly but curious. Hope you like it and thanks for coming by!
