The PS2 version also received a Japanese release (co-published by <a href="/capcom/3010-367/" data-ref-id="3010-367">Capcom</a>) on May 27, 2004 as <em>Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX 2003</em>.</p><p>The sequel to the original <a href="/mat-hoffmans-pro-bmx/3030-2341/" data-ref-id="3030-2341">Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX</a>, Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX 2 brought the series to more modern sixth-generation consoles (with the Dreamcast receiving the original version instead) while introducing several new types of tricks (including flatland tricks and "tweaks"), larger levels, and a new style of career mode (known as "Road Trip").</p><p>The game also received a handheld adaptation by <a href="https://www.giantbomb.com/hotgen-ltd/3010-1922/" data-ref-id="3010-1922">HotGen Studios</a> for the <a href="https://www.giantbomb.com/game-boy-color/3045-57/" data-ref-id="3045-57">Game Boy Color</a> the <a href="https://www.giantbomb.com/game-boy-advance/3045-4/" data-ref-id="3045-4">Game Boy Advance</a> in North America on August 13, 2002 and in Europe on October 4, 2002.
