The '90 iteration of Famista has some significant upgrades for the series. The cartridge of this entry comes with a battery save affording three save slots, eliminating the need to write down passwords. New types of players: switch hitters and sidearm pitchers. New stadiums bringing the stadium selection to 6. New league mode replacing the single elimination format of previous Famista games. This league mode is configurable to select the participating teams, number of games and number of innings per game. The Player Edit feature from the previous entry has been reduced to just a custom player in the position of pinch hitter. Due to the circumstances around its release date being pushed up to the tail end of 1989, Famista '90's roster update did not reflect the NPB 1990 season.
