A period of peace is disrupted when three foolish men steal the eight magic books meant to keep two ancient dragons - the Chrome Dragon and the Gold Dragon - in deep slumber. Once awakened, the Chrome Dragon begins to terrorize the world. You play as Feram - avatar of the Gold Dragon - on a quest to bring back peace by collecting the eight magic books to put the Chrome Dragon back to sleep. Dragon Scroll: Yomigaerishi Maryū is one of Konami's first attempts to enter the action RPG genre. It was greatly influenced by the first Legend of Zelda game, set in an open world and enables non-linear exploration, barred only by puzzles. The game is known for having some unconventional designs in the genre such as having you attacking NPCs in order to talk to them, a majority of puzzles being very cryptic to figure out and no healing consumable.
