A Dinosaur's Story, known in the Genesis version as <em>A Dinosaur's Tale</em>, are side-scrolling platformers published by <a href="/hi-tech-expressions-inc/3010-937/" data-ref-id="3010-937">Hi Tech Expressions</a> for the <a href="/super-nintendo-entertainment-system/3045-9/" data-ref-id="3045-9">Super Nintendo Entertainment System</a>, <a href="/genesis/3045-6/" data-ref-id="3045-6">Sega Genesis</a>, and <a href="/game-boy/3045-3/" data-ref-id="3045-3">Game Boy</a> in North America on November 1993.</p><p>Each of the three games are movie <a href="/tie-in/3015-653/" data-ref-id="3015-653">tie-ins</a> with <a href="/games-based-on-movies/3015-755/" data-ref-id="3015-755">the animated feature film</a> <a href="/were-back-a-dinosaurs-story/3030-22937/" data-ref-id="3030-22937">We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story</a> (itself <a href="/games-based-on-movies-based-on-books/3015-4305/" data-ref-id="3015-4305">based on</a> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We%27re_Back!_A_Dinosaur%27s_Story_(book)" data-target="true" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">the children's book of the same name</a>).</p><ul><li>The SNES version, developed by <a href="/visual-concepts/3010-893/" data-ref-id="3010-893">Visual Concepts</a>, puts players as the intelligent <a href="/tyrannosaurus-rex/3015-585/" data-ref-id="3015-585">Tyrannosaurus Rex</a> known as Rex as he makes his way across New York (with the help of his dinosaur friends) to rescue the kids Louie and Cecilia from Professor Screweyes.</li></ul><ul><li>The Genesis version, developed by <a href="/funcom-productions-as/3010-575/" data-ref-id="3010-575">Funcom</a>, puts players as either the street urchin Louie or his wealthy friend Cecilia as they play through events from the film. It also features vehicular mini-game segments where players control the dinosaurs themselves.</li></ul><ul><li>The Game Boy version, developed by <a href="/beam-software/3010-3409/" data-ref-id="3010-3409">Beam Software</a>, ties little with the film's story and instead puts players as Rex as he journeys throughout various prehistoric environments to rescue his dinosaur friends from Prof. Screweyes. It is notable for being one of the three <a href="/lost-in-translation/3015-5017/" data-ref-id="3015-5017">licensed localizations</a> of the 1993 European game <em>Baby T-Rex</em> (which would later get remade as <a href="/radical-rex/3030-10305/" data-ref-id="3030-10305">Radical Rex</a>), the other two being <em>Bamse</em> for Swedish markets (based on <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bamse" data-target="true" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">the cartoon of the same name</a>) and <em>Agro Saur</em> in Australian markets (based on <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agro_(puppet)" data-target="true" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">the puppet media personality Agro</a>).</li></ul><h2>Game Boy Versions</h2><table><tbody><tr><td><h3>We're Back!
