<h2>Overview</h2><p>Cosmic Spacehead is a platformer with adventure game elements by Codemasters and is similar to earlier games of theirs like those in the <a href="/dizzy/3025-153/" data-ref-id="3025-153">Dizzy</a> franchise. It was first released on the NES as Linus Spacehead's Cosmic Crusade and then received its new simplified title when it was remade for 16-bit systems the Genesis/Mega Drive, SNES, and Commodore Amiga (this remake was also "de-made" back into an 8-bit game for Sega's Master System and Game Gear systems).</p><p>Cosmic (Linus) has just returned from planet Earth but unfortunately no one on his home planet Linoleum believes his story about Earth. As a result he decides to return there, but this time he will take a camera in order to prove the existence of Earth. The game revolves around Cosmic's attempts to acquire a camera and space ship in order to return to Earth and throughout the game the player must solve a series of puzzles in order to acquire new items, this in turn allows the player to further progress through the game's story. The game world is set in a number of different locations on the planet, in order to travel between these locations the player must complete a short platforming section, these follow traditional platform mechanics of progressing from one side to the other while avoiding enemies and pits of death.</p>
