<h2>Overview</h2><p>Magi-Nation is a fantasy <a href="/monster-capturing/3015-734/" data-ref-id="3015-734">monster-battling</a> RPG developed and published by <a href="/interactive-imagination/3010-10491/" data-ref-id="3010-10491">Interactive Imagination</a> for the <a href="/game-boy-color/3045-57/" data-ref-id="3045-57">Game Boy Color</a> exclusively in North America on March 2001.</p><p>Based on the real-life <a href="/trading-card/3055-3775/" data-ref-id="3055-3775">collectible card game</a> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magi-Nation_Duel" data-target="true" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">Magi-Nation Duel</a> (which is also published by Interactive Imagination), Magi-Nation puts players as modern-day teenager <a href="/tony-jones/3005-6090/" data-ref-id="3005-6090">Tony Jones</a>, who is whisked into a fantasy world and must use the power of Dream Creatures to stop an army of Dark Magi and return home.</p><p>It later received a Japanese-exclusive conversion for the <a href="/game-boy-advance/3045-4/" data-ref-id="3045-4">Game Boy Advance</a>, ported by <a href="/matahari-studios/3010-25966/" data-ref-id="3010-25966">Matahari Studios</a> and published by <a href="/epoch-co-ltd/3010-3682/" data-ref-id="3010-3682">Epoch</a> on December 12, 2002. This version features a reworked protagonist (Dan).</p><p>Some spin-offs and sequels were in development for both the Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance, but were scrapped during development. One of these games, <em>Magi-Nation: Keeper's Quest</em>, later had a leaked prototype.</p>
