<h2>Overview</h2><p><strong>Insector-X</strong> is a shoot 'em up that features a man wearing a futuristic flying exosuit, fighting alien insects across a series of terrestrial landscapes. Originally released in the arcades by Taito in 1988, the game was ported to the <a href="/genesis/3045-6/" data-ref-id="3045-6">Sega Genesis</a> and the <a href="/nintendo-entertainment-system/3045-21/" data-ref-id="3045-21">Nintendo Famicom</a> in 1990.</p><p>The Sega Genesis version greatly reworked the graphics of the game, switching from the cute anime look <a href="/taito-corporation/3010-135/" data-ref-id="3010-135">Taito</a> used to a more realistic set of sprites and backgrounds. The Famicom version, meanwhile, retained the look of the arcade version.</p>
