n a quiet corner of a quiet lane near the heart of the city, lies a quiet little Malay cemetery. Located along Jalan Kubor (near Lavender), this Malay cemetery is filled with headstones overran by creepers and vines and weeds. Another reported name for this cemetery is Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah Cemetery, and it is also the scene of a firefight in the early 70s between two gunmen and law enforcement personnel. The headstones and their little green conclave remains peacefully where they are now, and one wonders if they are aware of the encroaching urban landscape upon their rest.
